That’s why we’ve built three distinct programs, each designed to meet people where they are — whether they’re working toward ownership, recovering from hardship, or rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
🚗 Drive Opportunity
Transportation support for refugee & immigrant families
Drive Opportunity is our community impact initiative designed to support refugee and immigrant families who lack reliable transportation and are actively working to rebuild their lives. Many families face daily challenges getting to work, school, medical appointments, and other essential needs. Through this program, eligible households may apply to join a waiting list, and when program funding reaches established milestones, selected families may receive discounted or sponsored vehicle access.
This initiative is funded through a portion of select rentals, along with customer donations that go 100% directly toward the program. All funds are used to support families who are taking meaningful steps toward long-term stability and independence. Drive Opportunity is built on dignity, accountability, and sustainable impact — not handouts.
🔑 Keys to a New Start
Support for renters facing temporary hardship
Keys to a New Start is designed for existing or past On Demand Rent A Car customers who are experiencing serious life challenges that affect their ability to maintain reliable transportation. These challenges may include job loss, medical or family emergencies, temporary homelessness, financial crisis, or other major life disruptions. Eligible applicants may be considered for temporary vehicle access, discounted rental rates, or placement on our hardship support list, depending on individual circumstances and program availability.
All applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and supporting documentation may be requested as part of the review process. Assistance is temporary, availability-based, and approval is not guaranteed. This program exists to ensure that during difficult moments in life, transportation is not the barrier that prevents someone from getting back on their feet and moving forward.
🚘 Rent-to-Own Program
A path from renting to ownership — without banks or pressure
Our Rent-to-Own program allows customers to drive a reliable vehicle today while working toward ownership over time. It is designed for those who need dependable transportation now and want a clear, structured path to owning their vehicle without traditional financing.
Select vehicles qualify with an initial down payment and flexible weekly or monthly payments, with a portion of each payment applied toward ownership. This program is ideal for long-term renters and customers seeking predictable payments and a clear ownership timeline. Vehicle title transfers only after all payments and terms are fully completed. GPS tracking is required until the vehicle is paid in full, missed payments may result in vehicle recovery, and routine maintenance is the customer’s responsibility.
